FIBA chooses Luscher's 'House of Basketball' for headquarters

GENEVA/MIES, Switzerland / 18th December 2009 - FIBA today revealed the project that will in future house the Federation's world headquarters, during a press conference in Mies, Switzerland.

CBF anticipates mid-season registration period: some juridical remarks

Recently, with a short statement posted on its website, the Confederação Brasileira de Futbol (CBF) announced the anticipation of its mid-season registration period. Instead of taking place between the 3rd and the 31st of August 2010, as established by the Resolução da Presidencia 02/2005, the (inaccurately) so-called “transfer window” will start on the 20th of July 2010 and end on the 19th of August 2010.

We constantly witness how newspapers explore -on an almost daily basis- the possibility of CESC using the infamous article 17 of FIFA’s Regulations for the Status and Transfer of Players. I will thus try to clear out what that article means and how it might be used by a player.
